The Bloody Chamber and Other Short Stories, are stories that have been written on popular fairy tales and vampire myths, but have a bit of a feminist twist to them. These were composed in the mid 20th century, so it becomes very interesting to see the way Carter treats her female characters.
So far I am loving the setting and the topography, as well as the way she’s used popular stories. If you’re a fan of Beauty and the Beast or Red-Riding Hood, you’ll love this classic with a little female- empowerment.
Let me know, which are your favorite classics?
